General Information – Artists

DEADLINE: Completed applications are due by Monday, April 24, 2017. No exceptions.
FEES: $75 per 10’ x 10’ space
$150 per 10’ x 20’ space – limited availability
$20 fee for 120-volt hookup for electricity – limited availability
LOCATION: The Artists’ Row of the Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival is located on Ninth Street next to Honesdale’s Central Park. Each vendor space may be shared by a maximum total of two artists/artisans/authors. Spaces are first come, first serve. Arrive early to secure your
preferred spot.
REGISTRATION: This year we are ONLY accepting DIGITAL SUBMISSIONS of your work, bio, and photo. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY CDS THIS YEAR. After receiving your application, we will contact you VIA EMAIL with instructions for submitting the following through Box.com:
• 3 DIGITAL (but no more than 3) 800×800 pixels or greater examples of your work
• Authors must submit a sample of their writing
• An artist bio in a MS Word document (two to three sentences)
• A photo of you, the artist(s)
Please note: your artist bio and photo will be used on the Honesdale Roots & Rhythm website
and on our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Notification: Artists/Artisans and Authors will be notified of their acceptance/rejection no later than May 5, 2017. Roots & Rhythm reserves the right to reject any application. APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED WITHOUT THE REQUIRED ITEMS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Artwork: All displayed artwork on the day of the event MUST be ORIGINAL works by the participating artist/artisan/author(s), and must be of equal quality and consistency with those portrayed in the registration samples. We expect all art to be finished pieces. Please do not sell raw materials such as beads and stones. Participants must provide their own tents, display tables, chairs, and their own help to set up and dismantle. In order to offer a wide diversity of artwork, Roots & Rhythm may limit the number of artists/artisans in a specific medium. Selections will be made based on artistic merit rather than a first-come basis. Vendors featuring works with a variety of price ranges have had the best sales in the past.
Hours: Set-up begins at 8:00 a.m. VENDOR HOURS ARE NOON TO 7:00 P.M.
Vendors are expected to be present at their tables during these hours.
VENDORS WHO BREAK DOWN THEIR BOOTH BEFORE 7:00 P.M. WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK.
